Lack of Motivation?

By Beyondo, 30. Aug 2023
How do you find your motivation?

Your company is looking for passionate employees who are committed and motivated to achieve their goals. You find yourself in a work situation and are not as motivated as you would like at the moment. Are you wondering how and where I find my motivation again?

What is motivation?

Motivation is often described as our inner driving force. The drive activates our actions and motivates behaviour to achieve a specific goal or accomplish a certain task. The term motivation means the activation of a behaviour. The activity tends towards a certain goal with more or less intensity, and it can show more or less consistency. As outsiders, we can only perceive motivation through behaviour; it is a mental construct. This means that each person can control it themselves.

You have it in your hand

If motivation is a mental construct, then each person can steer a low level of motivation in a positive direction. Sometimes we get into situations where it's convenient to blame others for our lack of energy. Maybe someone wronged you or dropped a bad comment. Perhaps your job no longer corresponds to your inner desires, or you had to endure a stroke of fate through no fault of your own. Being a victim doesn't help you out of the situation, only self-responsibility will get you further. This is the only way. You choose positive feelings, and your thoughts and actions change your situation. You have it in your hand.

What makes me happy

Think about what makes you happy. Which activities at work, in everyday life, with the family, in nature move emotions from within? when do you laugh When do you feel joy? Watch your feelings. Write down small mood-related movements in a diary every day. Do this daily for at least 60 days. Then look back. Is there a pattern? Do you see activities that make you happy again and again? If so, you should try to give these actions more space in your life.

Find the truth in your story

Sometimes life rushes by at a fast pace. We know exactly what the man needs or what the children want, but we have forgotten our own wishes. It helps to look back at your own history. What did you really enjoy in your childhood, in your youth, during the summer holidays, etc.? Which activities or expressions did you enjoy back then? This information can give you hints about your current motivation. Get up close and personal with your own story. You might even find some gold.

My why

People who have found their "why" know why you work, know where you want to go, know what tasks you have to solve here on earth. Often people with this clarity are very fulfilled and happy. If you go in search of your meaning, then the motivation will come by itself. We wish you lots of friends!
